Ready Player Me Hub

Hello!

As a few of you have noticed, the Hub is no longer available but we are very excited to share our new and improved avatar management experience Player Zero!

Here you can now easily create your new and improved avatar as well as discover an ever expanding library of games.

You can still edit your existing avatars directly in your favourite game or app, and if you need to download your avatar for any reason then this can be done via an API call

We are looking forward to sharing more with you soon on the future plans so keep an eye on the forum alongside our socials for news and updates.

Kind regards

Tom & the Ready Player Me team

How the heck players are going to delete their unneeded avatars now? Or let the base overflow? Also players have various problems with downloading their avatars and their old avatar’s clothing.

There are also links in a manner of: “htt ps://read yplayer.m e/red eem/???”
with 8 of “?” at the end whose stopped working entirely!

Replacing HUB with playerzero is like replacing shoes with a towel.

Can you pin here a REDEEM link api, because what l found is that it uses “PUT” method to a complete url: “/api/assets/wardrobe”, but it can’t be final url because it has no “https” prefix. Then l tried with the body: {“data”:“C145ZA9D”}, but it never succeeds.

Can you at least give us a URL so people can access their owned Avatars easily in a browser (copy url of the glb)?

Details are in the message @Jim_Simons , hit the link about downloading via an API call. You can basically just whack that into a browser and the GLB downloads.

Looking into this at the moment, hoping for a fix soon. Will keep you posted.

thanks for the reply - yes but I want to be able to choose from my list of avatars in a browser as do the users

Hi Tom, where are all the clothing customization options? These all vanished in the RPM avatar creator and our existing saved avatars are defaulting to plain clothes. We heavily rely on this customizability - there are virtually no options left.

What is your subdomain? These options are all controlled on a per developer basis so nothing should have changed unless the developer makes a change.

This can still be done within each experience. So if you go to Spatial.io for example all of your avatars are there and you can create new ones.

Otherwise not quite sure what you mean?

Hi Tom, not 100% what you’re referring to. We had a bunch of avatars created with various clothing options that no longer exist. As you can see per my screenshots below, these are characters we already have saved. When clicking into the character to edit, they default to a RPM outfit and the clothing we used is no longer accessible.

Also want to note that there are more clothing options when accessing the creator from the RPM home page versus the developer hub. This seems to be the issue.

Directly through RPM home page:

Thanks for the help!

Just to add onto my last post, if you make an avatar directly on readyplayer.me > Try our Avatar Creator, this character will not save to your developer hub, even if you are signed into the email associated with it. You can make an avatar directly through the developer hub, but as mentioned, all of these clothing options vanished.

Moreover, I can longer find any way to pose my character and save it as a png directly through the creator. Where did this feature go?

thanks, it’s more that I have a legacy flow in my VR app that pops up the oculus/meta browser to allow the user to choose their avatars, and this workflow is no longer available.

I’ve updated the app to use the embedded avatar creator which is better for users anyway.

This seems like a terrible decision from the developers. PlayerZero only allows you 1 avatar, and you can’t download the model for it, and downloading your models from the browser now requires you to know each avatars ID, which isn’t realistic, especially for a creator with a lot of avatars.

My workflow included downloading various models created in the website for use as NPC’s, and now I can no longer do that.

Is there a option for downloading the avatar on player zero?

It would be great if we could import our RPM avatar into player zero, rather than create a brand new one. Any thoughts about adding this option? My main use for ready player me was creating avatars and uploading them to VR chat easily using the import to vr chat button. It was quick and easy. Love my avatar of 2+ years hate to see that option thrown away.

My thought is the same as yours, but would use for my custom vrchat avatar.

Hi. I downloaded a Player Zero avatar but it comes without head blendshapes/shapekeys.

Also, the previous 2D render endpoint doesn’t work either GET - 2D Render of an Avatar | Ready Player Me

In my case, I cannot use it without these features.
