Hi, I found out about these avatars on some YouTube videos and wanted to try them. But nothing seems to work, everything is outdated and on top, forum questions don’t seem to get any replies.
Can someone confirm if the product is dead and not worth investing time in?
l can confirm the feedback does work for Ready Player Me, and that means it’s not dead. Because dead system = system w/out feedback. There was this case: in about 1 february 2025 year there had been switched down registration of new developer accounts. And there were massive uproars here on forum, and Ready Player Me team reenabled dev account registration back again. That’s what the Lifegiving Feedback does - it can turn sour vinegar back to heady wine!
I was looking at the past threads and topics it seems like since beginning of the year (approximately the times you mention) they’ve gone missing. Support who replied to people before are gone. There are unreplied simple questions for weeks and also I found out about some crypto stuff they were making. Didn’t find any scam happening in their name though. Maybe they run out of money and stopped the services. Happens to companies.
Hey @WifanOx can confirm we are very much not dead but the forum definitely needs a bit more love which is something I am focusing on at the moment. I was at Develop Brighton last week otherwise I would like to have gotten most things answered or updated.
Generally though I want to push for other forum members to help out (as @Something7548 has helpfully done here!) before coming in with some support or response.
If you let me know exactly what is not working I can help you there though it might be worth a new thread if you have a specific technical issue just to keep things organised.
The next gen was delayed and the info are not released anymore. Seem like PZ are becoming VIP member’s privilege, only selected few can develop the avatar system properly. And the discussion was between them internally, nothing to discuss with us plebeian
This is the crypto project, I don’t have access to this. So the sdk will be useless for my case. I just wanted the avatar creator and load them in unity.
The project is the same old one. Just the name was changed to reflect that RPM SDK is actually was made for this crypto project
Many people still have access to the old studio and can continue using it as avatar editor with this PZ package. But there is actually next gen studio that can custom avatar theme in addition, but only for selected few
Name changed for a crypto sdk? I don’t think I get the point. So that validates ready Player is no more, and it is some Player Zero crypto project now?
As you say you want the avatar creator for Unity I encourage you to take a look at the Unity Quickstart which should get you up and running Quickstart | Ready Player Me
