Getting HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request based on Wifi Connesction

Hello, I am now getting these errors in my unity project based on where I am. I have a FAST Comcast service in my office and get the error below. If I go to McDonald’s, it works. It is very sporadic as to which WIFI it works on and unpredictable. I Hope there is a solution to this

[Ready Player Me] MetadataDownloader: Failed to download metadata into memory. ReadyPlayerMe.CustomException: HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request

Hi there,

It sounds like the issue could be with the office WIFI. Could there be some firewalls or VPN affecting the connection?

This might also be related to BIPA. Due to BIPA (Biometric Information Privacy Act) regulations in Illinois, USA, we cannot currently serve users in this region. We are working on the matter, but it may take a few months to resolve.

Thanks for the reply, Markus.!!! This happens in many different Wifi locations ( i.e., Mcdonald’s), so that is not it.

Hello again, Markus. So, to be clear, none of our projects will work here in Chicago? Is there any workaround to using Readyplayer? We cannot just tell clients it will not work for months here in Chicago.

Is there a way to disable the Facial Recognition code so your servers will accept the request? That would work for the time being. Most people do not know how to use that function in our demographic and we have a services where we can create that version for them

We do see the warning that “” This service is currently not available in your region: Illinos, USA"" So hoping we can disable that function somehow.

Is there any way to disable Facial Recognition?

You will need the solution soon since 4 More states are preparing to do what Illinois has done for the 1st state

Illinois has a number of big cities, so many Readyplayer programs are not working now.

Hi @eprentice

We are still working on this and hopefully we will get it working in Illinois soon!
