Does the Unity SDK work without web? (Question for contingency plan)

Hello,

We are currently observing significant changes in RPM and are exploring contingency plans in the event that RPM Studio and Creator are shut down.

I came across the RPM Unity SDK on GitHub (GitHub - readyplayerme/rpm-unity-sdk-core: This Module contains all the core functionality required for using Ready Player Me avatars in Unity, including avatar loading and creation), which mentions that it includes all the core functionalities required for using Ready Player Me avatars in Unity, including avatar loading and creation. This would potentially enable us to integrate an RPM creator within Unity.

I would like to clarify whether this SDK can operate independently of the web-based RPM Creator. I understand that the Unity Creator requires the input of a RPM subdomain to function, but I would appreciate confirmation on this point.

Does anyone have experience or insight into this?

Hello @aarontolentino123, and welcome to the forums!
With the help of the SDK, you can create your own Avatar Creator in Unity independently of the web creator. You can find more information on this in our documentation:

Hi Amel, Thank you for your response. However, do you think it will still work in case RPM take down the web creator or web studio?
